Introduction to Who is Nnealegu?
Her full name is Eunice Agbeze but was popularly called Nnealegu or Omegozodu. The name Nnealegu was originated from her last daughter called Alegu so people started calling her Nnealegu. Nne means mother here in Igbo land which coined the both to be Nnealegu which means mother of Alegu or Alegu’s mother.
Also, the name Omegozodu is an Igbo words especially of the Oshiri dialect which means “doing as if others are left”. Literally it means helping others as if you already have enough. So it’s a name Oshiri people call someone who is compassionate to other. Someone who helps others without looking back. Someone that carries the burden of others and have his or her people’s interest at heart.
She was completely loved by her people of the small village called Egu-Ogudu Okwere which is a village from Amankalu community in Oshiri autonomous community. The people usually hold their weekly meeting at her place which was generally called Ibe Okorie Agbeze.

Okorie Agbeze is the oldest son which was also cheerful as his mother and the rest of the children. He passed away last month. May his soul rest in peace.
Ibe Okorie Agbeze means the compound or residence or house of Okorie Agbeze. Ibe means compound.
Nnealegu did not attend school but the children did. She was a dedicated Christian and she made all her children were all believers to the core. She was an active member in the Presbyterian church of Nigeria Oshiri. She was also buried by the said church when she died.
She was a very big motivation to her children and the grandchildren. That is why her grandchildren spent much time with her and loved her immensely till her death. They still miss her till today because of her selflessness act towards others whether her family or not.
Her compound is full of natural things like fruits and natural foods. Most of the people from the said village don’t really buy fruits in the market because they have many fruit trees surrounding them and can pluck any of them at any time. They have enough land to cultivate whichever type of food they want and access to animals either for meat or for tourist sake.

Nnealegu lived a live worth celebrating which her children and her grandchildren with great grandchildren have been celebrating since her departure. Her foot print is still reigning in the entire Agbeze’s family and the extended ones.
